With over 175 years of excellence in education, Illinois College in Jacksonville is a private, residential, liberal arts institution enrolling approximately 1,000 students.  The College offers more than 45 academic programs leading to the bachelor of arts and the bachelor of science degrees, and is distinguished as a Phi Beta Kappa institution.  One of the most competitive institutions in the nation according to Peterson's Competitive Colleges, Illinois College is recognized in Barron’s Best Buys in College Education and acknowledged as a College of Distinction.

An impressive 13:1 student-faculty ratio and small class size ensures an individualized educational experience at Illinois College.  Our one-of-a-kind BreakAway program complements classroom instruction with college-funded, diverse opportunities for hands-on learning, ranging from international adventures to internships and research projects.

Illinois College is a strong value in private education. Our sizeable endowment, over $135 million, allows us to keep tuition costs down and provide outstanding educational opportunities and facilities for our students.  We also have an exceptional financial aid program.  In fact, Illinois College awarded $6.4 million in financial aid to deserving students during the last academic year.

The beautiful campus boasts a New England-style quadrangle along with new facilities including the state-of-the-art Parker Science Center (2002) and the Bruner Fitness and Recreation Center (2003).  The Common Grounds Coffee Shop was recently completed (2005), while a new 201-bed residence hall opened at the start of the 2006-2007 academic year.

Students can choose from 20 NCAA Division III varsity sports and a number of intramural programs.  We also offer unlimited opportunities to get involved with over 75 clubs and organizations on campus, including unique and historic literary societies. Over 70 percent of our students choose to reside in college housing, including single-gender, coed, suite-style and apartment living options, along with two foreign language houses. Living in the campus community provides students with some of their most memorable college experiences.
