Fine Arts Series Welcomes Equinox Chamber Players

02.13.2017

Jacksonville, Ill. – The Illinois College Fine Arts Series welcomes the Equinox Chamber Players this Friday, February 17, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. in Rammelkamp Chapel.

Founded in 1999, the Equinox Chamber Players ensemble is one of St. Louis' most dynamic chamber music groups. The music of Equinox has a unique flair, featuring both traditional and recent works. The ensemble continues to build new repertoire for the woodwind quintet every year by commissioning new works and arrangements, championing new voices from the U.S. and around the world.

Featured in the PBS documentary Continental Harmony, Equinox has been heard nationally on PBS and NPR, and was featured in Chamber Music America magazine. All members of Equinox have performed with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra and numerous orchestras and ensembles in the U.S. and abroad. Oboist with the ensemble, Ann Homann, is a native of Waverly, Illinois, and is well known in Jacksonville audiences.

Individual concert tickets cost $15. The concert series offers free admission to students of all ages, regardless of where they attend school. Contact the Office of Development and Alumni Relations at 217.245.3069 or fas@ic.edu for complete ticket information. Greater detail about each performance is available at www.ic.edu/fas.

This season of the Fine Arts Series brings a variety of musical and theatrical experiences that not only inspires and entertains, but connects to the rich heritage found throughout the country.
