Illinois College announces new homecoming parade route, seeks entries
Illinois College is seeking community entries for one of Jacksonville’s best-loved parades. The college’s annual homecoming parade will take place on Saturday, October 11, at 10 a.m.

The parade will be staged this year in the Jacksonville High School Bowl and Grace United Methodist Church parking lots. Entries will step off at the corner of West State Street and Church Street and head east on State to the historic Jacksonville Downtown Square. The parade will begin to travel around the southwest corner of the square before turning south onto South Main, and then west onto West College Avenue. The parade will travel west down College and turn left onto Park Street before disbanding at the corner of Park and Edgehill Road. Parade goers are urged to bring a blanket or lawn chair to watch the parade.

A registration form for parade entries can be downloaded at www.ic.edu/homecoming2014 or a form may be picked up at the Alumni House at 1201 Mound Avenue. Entries must be received by Friday, September 19.
