The Khalaf Al Habtoor Archives at Illinois College are dedicated to preserving the artifacts and documents that tell the story of our college since 1829. Housed within Schewe Library, collections are open to the public by appointment.
In 2009, a group of dedicated faculty and staff launched the IC Time Capsule Project to coordinate activities related to the history of Illinois College and the local community of Jacksonville. Thanks to the generosity of granting organizations, we have made significant progress in organizing our collections of documents, photographs, artifacts, and oral histories.

The Archives were honored to have Congresswoman Cheri Callahan Bustos '83 tour the facility during her stop at Illinois College on April 20th. Bustos was given a tour by Archives' student workers Dan Lewis '16 and Adam Enz '17, as seen in the image.
The Khalaf Al Habtoor Archives at Illinois College (located on the lower floor of Schewe Library) recently underwent renovations. The Archives are back up-and-running since early October 2014. On Monday, October 13, the Archives was dedicated to Dr. Khalaf Al Habtoor with the various donors and President Barbra Farley in attendance. Dr. Habtoor invited former President Jimmy Carter to speak to the Illinois College community and participate in a panel with former Congressman Paul Findley and himself that week. It was a remarkable experience for everyone at Illinois College, especially those who have worked so hard in the Archives. If you need to contact us, please send us an email at Archives@mail.ic.edu
