Watch: Chemistry students talk about their research

Several Illinois College chemistry students have posted videos on social media for PBS NewsHour talking about their experience in the chemistry lab. PBS has launched a new series on basic research that tries to capture the excitement of a discovery and the reasons why scientists have chosen their fields. In connection to this new series, PBS wants to know why students engaged in basic research have made that decision and why it matters to them. PBS will go through the videos and choose a few to showcase on their website, NewsHour may even visit a lab or two to get a closer look. IC students who posted a video are juniors Jacob Dander and Samantha Hereley; and sophomores Nick Moscardelli, Preston Rieck and Shafer Soars.
