Presidential exhibit on display in honor of President Farley

In honor of President Barbara Farley's inauguration, Schewe Library will feature an exhibit of Illinois College Presidents Since 1829. Thanks to the Susan Allen Student-Faculty Research Fund, Ana Flores '15 and professor Jenny Barker-Devine conducted research through the summer to bring the exhibit to life. Some of the artifacts on display include Edward Beecher's pipe, Rufus Crampton's Civil War-era binoculars and Edward Tanner's college yearbook. Taylor Brien '15 also completed an internship in the Illinois College Archives, funded by the Alice H. Englebach Peace Studies Fund. He assisted with digitizing many of the images and with the final installation of the exhibit. A satellite exhibit titled "First Impressions" is on display in the Paul Findley Congressional Office in Whipple Hall. This exhibit features Edward Beecher's trunk, founding Illinois College documents and quotes from presidents reflecting on their first impressions of the College.
