Service project helps Kids Against Hunger

As part of Inauguration Week, a campus-wide service project in honor of the inauguration of Illinois College’s 14th President Barbara Farley took place to help feed kids in Chicago and Africa.

Monday's theme of Inspiring Service brought 150 volunteers to Memorial Gymnasium to prepare meals to be distributed to children in Chicago and Africa through the non-profit organization Kids Against Hunger. The goal was to prepare 14,000 meals. Illinois College students, faculty, staff and community members went above and beyond that goal by preparing 15,552 meals in under two hours.
