“Premier men’s vocal ensemble” heads to Illinois College
The Illinois College Fine Arts Series presents the men’s vocal group “Cantus” on Saturday, February 23, at 7:30 p.m. in Rammelkamp Chapel.

The group’s adventurous musical choices have garnered them high praise. They were acclaimed as the “premier men’s vocal ensemble in the United States” by Fanfare. The Washington Post hails the ensemble’s sound as having both “exalting finesse” and “expressive power” and refers to their music making as “spontaneous grace.”

“Cantus” performs more than 60 concerts each year both in national and international touring, as well as in its home of Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minn. and has released 15 albums on its own self-titled label. Each year the artists of “Cantus” share their own love of singing with thousands of students through workshops and master classes to ensure the future of choral arts.

This engagement is supported by the Arts Midwest Touring Fund, a program of Arts Midwest, which is generously supported by the National Endowment for the Arts with additional contributions from the Illinois Arts Council.

“Cantus” will offer a workshop before their performance on Saturday at 2 p.m. The workshop is free and open to the public. The concert is free for all students. Tickets for the concert are $15, available at the door.
