Previous Projects

Franklin Elementary School: During the Spring of 2012, sixteen Sonya Project volunteers served thirty-two students at Franklin Elementary School.

Lincoln Elementary School: During the Fall of 2011 through the Spring of 2014, seventy Sonya Project volunteers served sixty-nine Lincoln Elementary students with many volunteers serving for multiple semesters.
Current Sonya Project Programs

For the fall 2014 semester, Illinois College student volunteers will serve in four local schools, North Elementary, Washington Elementary, and Turner Jr. High. Participating Illinois College students are members of IS 205 Leadership in a Democracy, French 302 French Conversation & Composition, ED 203 Multicultural Issues in Education, or are former Sonya Project participants. Students served range from Kindergarten to ninth grade.
