IC alumnus on campus for book reading

Illinois College alumnus Adam Kershaw ’02 will be on campus to perform a reading from his novel, The Price of Loyalty, on Thursday, October 25, from 8 to 9 p.m. in Abraham Lincoln Hall’s Fairfield Library.

Kershaw, a Pi Pi Rho Literary Society alumnus, graduated from Illinois College with a major in English with a secondary education certificate and experience working in the Campus Writing Center. He teaches English and is a football coach at Williamsville High School. After earning his master's degree in English from the University of Illinois Springfield, Kershaw also took on the role of teaching English at Benedictine University.

His novel was written in partial fulfillment of his master’s degree and is based loosely on his experiences as a literary society member, telling a riveting story of the trials of maintaining the bonds of friendship through trying times.

A reception will be held from 7:30 to 8 p.m., and a book signing will follow the reading. Books will be available in the IC Bookstore.

The event is sponsored by the Campus Writing Center, Pi Pi Rho Literary Society and the staff of Forté literary magazine.
