Illinois College is accepting entries from community organizations interested in participating in the college’s annual homecoming parade on Saturday, October 13, at 10 a.m. in Jacksonville.
One of homecoming’s best loved events begins at the Illinois College Walkway intersection with Park Street, continues north to West College Avenue and then heads east along College to the Historic Jacksonville Downtown Square. The parade will disband at the Jacksonville Municipal Building. Parade goers are urged to bring a blanket, lawn chair or sit in the grandstands along Park Street.
This year alumni activities at homecoming will focus on alumni men and women who have served or are presently serving our country in the armed forces. Military alumni are invited to take part in the parade as a special entry as we celebrate a “Red, White and True Blue Forever” homecoming.
Community members who would like to place an entry in the parade are urged to download a registration form
and return it to the Office of Development and Alumni Relations at 1101 West College Avenue, Jacksonville, Illinois, 62650 by Friday, September 21.
