Illinois College mourns passing of mail services director


Rhonda Howerton, Illinois College director of mail services, passed away Wednesday morning, June 20, in Ninnekah, Okla.

Howerton was from Naples and worked at the College for 17 years.

“Rhonda was a very loyal and longtime member of the Illinois College community. She worked hard every day to make the mailroom function as efficiently as she knew how, always keeping the students as her top priority. We will miss her. Our thoughts and prayers are certainly with her family,” Vice President for Business Affairs and Assistant Treasurer Frank G. Williams said.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Williamson Funeral Home, with burial at Diamond Grove Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Central Christian Church. Condolences may be left online at
