Illinois College’s Coalition for Ethnic Awareness (CEA) will offer an opportunity for the campus and community to learn about various international cultures represented on campus next week.
“Multicultural Festival: Celebrating Diversity at Illinois College” is a free event open to the public next Wednesday, April 25, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Bruner Fitness and Recreation Center Concourse. This is the fifth annual multicultural festival sponsored by the student group.
Students, faculty and staff will offer to the public informative displays, music and food of more than 20 international cultures. In addition, participants will partake in a competitive fashion and talent show displaying the traditional clothing corresponding to the culture with which they identify or study at Illinois College.
The mission of CEA is to promote racial and cultural harmony on the Illinois College campus, as well as provide an outlet for the student body to experience cultures different from their own. For more information about the free event, contact Jafar Qutob at firstname.lastname@example.org
