The Illinois College Concert Choir and Chamber Singers will be in Springfield for three days performing at high schools and churches, plus tour historical landmarks this month.
On Friday, April 13, the choir will perform at Southeast High School at 9 a.m. and then at Lanphier High School at 12:45 p.m. On Saturday, April 14, they will sing at Laurel United Methodist Church at 8 p.m. On Sunday, April 15, the group will be at Westminster Presbyterian Church at 10 a.m.
“Tours, even shorter ones like this, are a great opportunity for students to perform in various environments for diverse audiences,” Conductor Abby Musgrove said. “We are able to make great music, and have a great time. It's a win-win for everyone.”
The choir will also feature Illinois College’s men’s and women’s a capella ensembles, “Blue Tie Affair” and “Sapphire.”
Other stops on the agenda include tours of the Old State Capitol, the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum, New Salem and Lincoln’s Tomb.
