| Annual world affairs discussion series begins this month |
|
| The public is invited to voice their opinions on world affairs and U.S. foreign policy during Illinois College’s 32nd annual Great Decisions series which begins Tuesday, January 24.
The eight-week discussion group meets Tuesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. in Room 106 of Baxter Hall. Moderator Winston Wells, associate professor of political science, encourages newcomers and returning participants to register at the Illinois College bookstore in Abraham Lincoln Hall on the corner of Park Street and Edgehill Road after Monday, January 16.
Topics this year include the Middle East, Mexico, cybersecurity, Afghanistan and Iraq, Indonesia and the state of the world’s oceans.
The Great Decisions program is organized nationally by the Foreign Policy Association which provides participants with background information on current world affairs. At each session participants discuss an issue for an hour, followed by 15 minutes of voting on an opinion ballot.
Should you have questions about the discussion series, contact Wells at 217.245.3089.
