Fall 2013 TRiO Workshop Schedule
Each semester, the TRiO program offers a series of workshops geared toward equipping TRiO students with the various tools and resources necessary to achieve their academic, career, and life goals. TRiO students are required to attend at least one TRiO workshops per semester and and one financial literacy workshop per year.

TENTATIVE SPRING SCHEDULE

1) Thursday, September 12th: 7:00-8:00, Kirby 6
    College Athlete Academic Success Panel
    Former college athletes discuss how they balanced the demands of college and athletics! 
 
2) Tuesday, September 17th: 6:00-7:00, Kirby 108
    College/Life Transitions and Stress Panel
    Learn how to better cope with and manage inevitable transitions in college and beyond!
 
3) Tuesday, October 8th: 4:00-5:00, Kirby 244
    College Loans, Credit, Budgeting, and Saving
    ***MEETS FINANCIAL LITERACY REQUIREMENT*** 
    Hands-on tools for managing your loans and to start planning for your financial future!
 
4) Wednesday, October 23rd: 7:00-8:00, Kirby 108
    Major/Career Exploration & Decision-Making Panel
    Staff, faculty, and students will provide resources to facilitate major/career exploration!
 
5) Tuesday, October 29th: 6:00-7:00, Kirby 108
    Meet the President: TRiO, the College, and Academic Success
    An opportunity for TRiO students to get to know our new President!
 
6) Wednesday, November 6th: 6:00-7:00, Kirby 108
    Literary Societies Panel: Balancing Obligations and Setting Boundaries
    Staff and students will help you to set achievable goals and increase your motivation levels!
  
7) Thursday, November 14th: 7:00-8:00, Baxter 102
    Taking Control of Your Financial Aid Award and Billing Situation
    ***MEETS FINANCIAL LITERACY REQUIREMENT*** 
    A hands-on session to help you to understand and determine your financial aid award and bill!
 
8) Monday, November 18th: 7:00-8:00, Kirby 108
    Be SMART: Setting Achievable Goals and Increasing Your Motivation Panel
    Staff and students will help you to set achievable goals and increase your motivation levels!   
 
9) NEW UPPER CLASSMEN OPTION: Create Your Own Workshop Experience!:
     Talk with your TRiO Counselor to discuss details and explore possible workshop options!
