Outside Scholarship Opportunities - August 2014 Deadlines

Deadline: 8/1/2014   Students with declared majors of biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or a related life-science field are encouraged to apply.  Students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale).  References may be submitted.  $5,000 - $10,000
   
Deadline: 8/9/2014.  Students currently enrolled with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher who have worked an average of at least 12 hours for each of the previous 4 weeks at the time of applying are encouraged to apply.  Student must submit an essay discussing the complexities of paying your way through college.  $1,000
 
Deadline: 8/15/2014.  Students 16 and older enrolled or committed to attend a two-year, four-year, or graduate program with a cumulative GPA of 2.75 are encouraged to apply.  Students must submit a paper application and an essay describing your motivation/decision to pursue a degree in your chosen area.  A 30 second video summary must also be uploaded via instagram to their Facebook page.  $1,000.
 
Deadline: 8/20/14.  Applicants must have completed their first year of medical school and show proof of enrollment for second year.  Student must submit an essay and proof of student loan debt.  $5,000
 
Deadline: 8/30/2014.  Students may write a 500 - 700 word essay on the following topic: "What compels you to study accounting, business, and/or finance?  What is your end goal, and how do you think you will make a difference in this field?".  Students must submit a copy of their transcript and one letter of recommendation.  $5,000
 
Deadline: 8/31/2014.  College students with a major limb amputation are eligible to apply.  Students must provide transcripts and a short letter explaining how the loss of limb(s) has affected his or her life.  $500 

Deadline: 8/31/2014.  Students currently enrolled or who will be enrolling in the next 6 months in an undergraduate, graduate, or certificate level nursing education program are encourages to apply.  Students must submit a 600 - 800 word essay.  $1,000
