IC TheatreWorks Production “Terminal Café” in Sibert Theatre (7:30 p.m.)
Life ain't easy for the residents of San Gabriel, NM: the back-breaking work in the company coal mine barely earns enough company scrip to pay rent on the dilapidated company homes. Folks are barely getting by. The dawn of World War II seems a blessing. All of a sudden demand for coal skyrockets as fuel is needed for a mysterious experiment over in nearby Los Alamos. The whole town feels the boom, but at what cost? Loosely based on the real-life town of Madrid, NM, Terminal Café explores the price of progress with alternating humor and heartbreak. Play by Jon Tuttle and directed by Aasne Daniels. :: Tickets: $7 (free for IC students)
