Karen Dean Professor Dean teaches courses in American politics and a variety of interdisciplinary courses that put the study of politics in interesting contexts such as race and politics, and politics in the arts. Students benefit from the many forms of experiential learning that Prof. Dean integrates in her classes.

Kelly Dagan Professor Dagan is committed to understanding issues of inequality and combating discrimination. She also stresses the need for active engagement in the larger world and is dedicated to educating her students about societal inequality through service-learning.

Katie Brunk
Katie graduated from Illinois College in 2010 with a B.A. in history and international studies. She was a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Ingelheim, Germany 2010 - 2011. After a short time in the Peace Corps, she has returned to Illinois College to create and promote programs that expand academic access and success among low income and high-risk youth and college access and persistence among first generation college students.

Lori Oldenettel
Lori, a 1993 graduate of Illinois College and a life-long resident of Jacksonville, has dedicated much of her professional career and personal life to the service of others. She earned an M.A. in Human Services from the University of Illinois at Springfield. She enjoys connecting students and community together for volunteer opportunities and sharing the important role we all play in making our world a better place to work, learn, play and live. Julie Samaras
Julie provides academic support for faculty members in Sturtevant Hall and the Leadership Program. Her spare time is spent working as librarian at Waverly Public Library and delivering food for the Loami Area Food Pantry. Colin Duling
Colin is a senior majoring in Political Science and International Studies. He is a leadership fellow who currently serves as co-president of the IC Chapter of Amnesty International, Class of 2013 vice president, a member of the honor board, and was the 2nd place finisher in the 2011 Al Habtoor Essay Contest. Miriam Quezada
Miriam is a sophomore who plans to double major in Communications and International Studies with a concentration on Gender and Human Rights. As a member of the Eta Sigma Chapter of the service fraternity, Alpha Phi Omega, she is highly involved with community service. Ana Flores
Ana is a sophomore, double majoring in Spanish and International Studies with a minor in Gender and Women Studies. She serves on the Student Athletic Advisory Committee, is a member of the Coalition for Ethnic Awareness, the IC chapter of Amnesty International, and is a photographer for The Rambler. She is student athlete and runs for both the cross country and track teams. Following graduation, Ana hopes to join the Peace Corps and would love to work for the United Nations.
