The Illinois College student group, SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise), is sponsoring the Campbell’s “Let’s Can Hunger” food drive. From November 1 to November 14, 2010, they will be seeking food donations for the local food bank. They have also partnered with Chartwells, the campus food service provider, in “Project Clean Plate” to help reduce food waste. If “Project Clean Plate” is able to reduce food waste by 20 percent in this two-week time period, Chartwells will donate food to the local soup kitchen.
SIFE will be collecting food donations at Walmart on Saturday, November 6, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Walmart is a corporate sponsor of SIFE international. There are also donation boxes located around the Illinois College campus. All donations will be taken to the local food bank.
