Outside Scholarship Opportunities - June 2014 Deadlines

Deadline: 6/1/2014.  Available to undergraduates who were athletes at the high school level.  You do not need to be an athlete at the college level.  Students must be enrolled as a full-time student.  $1,000
Deadline: 6/2/2014.  High school students who will be the first in their family to enroll in college are encouraged to apply for this renewable scholarship.  Undocumented students are eligible to apply.  $1,000 per year.
Deadline: 6/3/2014. The Walmart Foundation offers scholarship programs that benefit qualified Walmart associates and their high school senior dependents.  Applicants must demonstrate financial need and have worked for any division of Walmart for at least 6 consecutive months prior to applying. Varies 
MCS Community Services Scholarship Program
Deadline: June 2014. Graduating high school students who are a resident of Morgan, Cass or Scott counties and are planning initial enrollment in an Illinois post-secondary educational/vocational program. Must have financial need. Various scholarships with awards up to $1,000. Call MCS Community Services for further information at (217) 243-9404.
Deadline: 6/14/2014.  Abbott & Fenner are committed to continuing our efforts at helping those who have the desire and ambition to succeed.  The A&F Scholarships are available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any accredited post-secondary institution.  $1000
Deadline: 6/15/2014.  Currently enrolled, full time students with a 3.0 minimum GPA are encouraged to apply.  Students must submit an essay.  Students are encouraged to apply throughout the year; awards are made quarterly.  $500 plus optional free transcription training course.
Deadline: 6/20/2014.  The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to help young athletes success in their academic pursuits by offering an annual scholarship to a deserving student.  All student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in.  Varies

Big Sun Scholarship
Deadline: 6/21/2013. Student athletes who are high school seniors or college students eligible to apply for a $500 scholarship.
Deadline: 6/20/2014. Students interested in pursuing a career in the field of accounting, with a "B" average or above in accounting subjects are encouraged to apply.  Students must complete the scholarship application and submit transcripts and letters of recommendations.  $1,000
Campus Discovery $2,500 "Advice to Your High School Self" Scholarship
Deadline: 6/30/2014. Must be enrolled at an accredited college or university or graduated in 2012, 2013, or 2014 with an Associate's or Bachelor's degree. Survey and essay questions required. $2,500 available.
Deadline: 6/30/2014.  Applicants must submit an essay related to bipolar disorder.  Essay must be between 600 - 1,000 words.  $500
Deadline: 6/30/2014.  Students with limited mobility who use a wheelchair, power scooter, crutches, rollator, or other mobility on a regular basis are eligible to submit an essay for scholarship consideration.  Students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.  $1,000
