Administrative Staff
Allen R. Mays, Jr. | Assistant Vice President for Campus Facilities

Allen works closely with the President and Vice Presidents of the campus to enhance the small private residential liberal arts college experience. He currently manages all aspects of the Facilities Management Department. Allen is responsible for Developing and maintaining a good relationship with local government, planning, zoning and administrative personnel to ensure timely and positive responses to the College’s facility needs. He meets regularly with the Building and Grounds Committee of the College Board providing them with advice and feedback related to the Strategic Facilities Plan. Allen works closely with Facilities Department Managers to Ensure the College is current with respect to all government codes and regulations, as well as all insurance requirements, concerning College buildings and grounds. He also assists in the development of various construction projects, providing leadership and overseeing capital projects, and leading the development of the campus’ cost savings and efficiency programs. Allen is a Graduate from Southern Illinois University’s Architecture Program. He has received an A.A.S., B.S. and is working towards the completion of a M.S. in Workforce Education.

Susan Bergschneider | Custodial Supervisor

Susan works closely with her custodial staff to make sure the buildings on campus are continuously clean and that her staff is efficient. Susan is also in charge of the payroll and budgeting for her department. Along with being custodial supervisor, Susan has taken on the duty of caring for the Travel Service Department, which includes scheduling of van usage, inspection of vehicles, and filing of paperwork. She also oversees the recycling and waste disposal area for our campus. Susan has been a custodian at Illinois College for 12 years, and became supervisor in 2006.

Mindy Bumgarner | Starhill Forest Arboretum Manager

Mindy works closely with Guy Sternberg and the Facilities Management office at Illinois College to oversee 48 acres of land. Her duties at Starhill include: managing the arboretum collection, performing and overseeing routine grounds maintenance, and establishing and maintaining a liaison with different interest groups. She graduated from Humboldt State University with a B.S. in Botany in 2003. Then in 2007, she graduated with a M.S. in Forestry and Natural Resources from Purdue University.
 
Tina Coop | Administrative Assistant for Facilities Management

Tina works closely with the Assistant Vice President for Campus Facilities, Allen R. Mays, Jr. and the maintenance and custodial managers, Heather Oxley and Susan Bergschneider. Her responsibilities include organization of capital project information, budgeting, writing check requests, answering phone calls and questions, keeping meeting minutes, and overseeing the card key system. She is also responsible for scheduling meetings for the Assistant Vice President. Tina has been an employee at IC since 2006, and joined the Facilities Management staff in 2007.

Marcia Lansaw | Facilities Management Office Assistant

Marcia runs the front desk of Facilities Management. Her responsibilities include answering phones, checking contractors in/out, assisting with check requests, invoices, budget system organization, inventory system administration, and administration of Rental Properties. Marcia is also responsible for work order tracking using School Dude, Key Control data entry and system organization, and building key and gas card inventory tracking. Marcia has been an employee of Illinois College since 1994 and joined the Facilities Management staff in 2010.

Heather Oxley | Maintenance Supervisor

Heather works closely with her staff to keep the campus looking its best. Heather’s duties include meeting contractors, assisting with capital projects, overseeing the work order system and key control system, budgeting, payroll, and keeping the campus up-to-date and running smoothly. Heather attended Stephens College in Columbia, Mo., and joined the the Facilities Management Staff in 2006.
