“IC Connections: The Illinois College First-Year Experience" welcomes and supports you as a new member of our Illinois College community. This program helps every new student make a successful transition from high school to college.
Focused on excellence, integrity, communication and respect- the principal tenets of our Affirmation of Community Responsibility- IC Connections allows new students to share their common experience, explore values, create lasting relationships and contribute to the College's strong sense of community.
IC Connections includes summer orientation (including registration for fall courses), Welcome Week as school begins, and a First-Year Seminar, taught by the faculty member who'll be your advisor for two years.
IC Connections helps new students make connections-beginning new friendships, getting advice from experienced student working as Connection Leaders, learning about campus activities and clubs, creating a personal relationship with your First-Year Seminar professor, and understanding how to succeed by doing college-level academic work.
