What does “collaboration” mean to you? For students involved in our Orchid Recovery Program, it means working closely with faculty and fellow students to design experiments within our laboratories and around North America, including pine forests in Florida, cloud forests in Hawaii and prairies in our own backyard. In this program, collaboration also means completing significant research and helping to sustain threatened species of flowers. It also means learning by doing. The education offered at Illinois College is intended to help you go beyond the classroom and the local area. Our students learn to address real scientific concerns, partner with people in laboratory and field settings and present their findings to the greater scientific community.
