	Thank you for your interest in Illinois College! We are very interested in “Global Education” at Illinois College and we welcome students from around the world. The following information is designed to assist you with the application process. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need further assistance as an international student. Illinois College is a four-year, private, liberal arts institution with an enrollment approximately 1,000 undergraduate students, situated between Chicago and St. Louis (in the heartland of Abraham Lincoln and Mark Twain). We do not offer any graduate programs. We are located in Jacksonville, Illinois, in west central Illinois; 235 miles southwest of Chicago; 90 miles north of St. Louis; 30 miles west of Springfield (the Illinois state capitol); and 60 miles east of the Mississippi River. Jacksonville is a friendly community of 25,000 people with clean air, clean water and a low crime rate.    Tips on how to get to Illinois College from abroad and travel preparations.

	Admission Requirements
	Admission to Illinois College is competitive.  The application deadline for international students who wish to enroll in the Fall semester (August) is June 1st.  The application deadline for applying for the Spring semester (January) is November 1st. Illinois College operates on rolling admission.  It is important to complete your application for admission as early as possible.  The Admission Committee will review your completed application promptly and notify you regarding their decision. The specific minimum requirements for international students include:  Step 1 :: Submit free application for admission    :: Apply Online    :: Apply online with the Common Application      Step 2 :: Submit ACT and/or SAT test scores    :: Minimum combined New SAT scores of 1410, with a minimum critical reading score of 450,     :: Minimum ACT composite of 20, with a minimum English score of 20    :: Illinois College Codes: ACT Code: 1034 or SAT Code: 1315   Step 3 :: Submit TOEFL scores    :: TOEFL scores are required for students whose native language is not English. All international       applicants whose native language is not English are required to take the Test of English as a       Foreign Language (TOEFL). The TOEFL requirement applies also to students whose courses       may have been taught in English (in Ghana, Hong Kong, India, Pakistan, Philippines, Tanzania,       etc.), but whose native language is not English.    :: Minimum TOEFL score of 79 iBT (a paper-based exam score of 550 or a computer-       based exam score of 213) is required admission to Illinois College. 	Costs and Scholarships
	International students will need to certify that they have financial support for their first year of study in the United States before we can issue Form I-20.  Students must demonstrate a reasonable expectation of continued support, without recourse to employment while in the U.S., for the duration of their academic programs.    International students must to complete and submit the Certificate of Finances form.   The general fees for the 2013-2014 academic year for international students attending Illinois College is as follows (all figures are in U.S. dollars):  Tuition $27,300 Fees $     500 Room & Board $  8,840 *Health Insurance (required) $     750 *Text Books $     900 *Personal/Transportation  $  1,500 Estimated total $39,790   * Health Insurance, Text Books and Personal/Transportation expenses are estimated.   Illinois College offers merit-based scholarships to qualified international applicants with outstanding academic achievement and test scores.  The merit-based scholarships range from $8,000 to $15,000 per year and are renewable for three additional years.
