Dr. Jeremy Turner, associate professor of psychology, is one of the nation’s leading experts on tinnitus (ringing in the ears) and age-related hearing loss. A recent recipient of a $300,000 research grant from the Tinnitus Research Consortium, Dr. Turner is a strong supporter of faculty-student research and Illinois College students assist him regularly in his labs both on our campus and at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine.
Academics are the heart of a college education.
Academic courses teach the skills students take with them to jobs and
graduate programs. As part of a liberal arts education, these courses
also prepare students to think. The ability to identify and solve
problems is a hallmark of liberal arts graduates, prized by employers
Faculty at Illinois College design and administer the curriculum,
which is divided into 16 departments, 5 interdisciplinary programs, and
45 majors. Students complete a series of general education requirements
and choose a major. Many students also choose a minor or a second major.
The Catalog contains a full description of all courses, majors, and
graduation requirements. The Course Listing includes the titles of
course offered in the current semester.
