Department of Education - Literacy Specialist
Illinois College Education Department seeks a specialist in Literacy for an open-rank tenure-track position beginning in Fall, 2015. Candidates must have an earned doctorate (or evidence of a date to defend their dissertation) in education or a related field by May, 2015, teaching experience in undergraduate and K-12 contexts, and considerable expertise in literacy. We seek a creative person prepared to help the Department integrate literacy throughout the teacher preparation program at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

The department offers the opportunity to work with nine licensure programs for entry-level teacher candidates and a master’s program designed to accommodate professional development needs of licensed teachers. Illinois College’s program is strongly integrated with the local community. Preference given to candidates with ELL experience. The position will involve students in faculty-student collaboration, using research and teaching to interest them in the scholarship of teaching.
