Research Interests
I specialize in finding, isolating, identifying, and preserving the fungi that orchids need to grow and survive on their own in nature.  My students then use these fungi to in the lab to propagate (grow) endangered orchids from seed, and then reintroducing the seedlings back into natural areas increasing natural population sizes.  I also study the insects that interact with orchids in positive and negative ways.
