The Department of Sociology invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level beginning in August 2015. We seek candidates who are broadly trained in sociology, and have a commitment to teaching within an undergraduate liberal arts setting.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in Criminology/Criminal Justice, Juvenile Delinquency, and Deviance on a rotating basis, as well as Introductory Sociology. Teaching load may also include a course in Social Problems. Preference will be given to applicants with teaching or research specializations in one or more of the following areas: race and class in the criminal justice system, statistics, or quantitative methods. A Ph.D. in Sociology and evidence of teaching excellence are required (ABD will be considered).
