Assistant Professor of Communication and Rhetorical Studies – Organizational Communication
The Department of Communication and Rhetorical Studies at Illinois College announces a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the area of Organizational Communication, to begin Fall 2015. The candidate will have experience in one or more of the following areas of study: business consulting, training and development, strategic and corporate communication, digital and social media, organizational leadership, and/or another specialized area of expertise. As part of a 3-3 teaching load, the candidate will teach Business Communication, multiple sections of public speaking, and one or more courses in the areas listed above. The ideal candidate will also have a strong background in quantitative analysis in order to develop and teach a new departmental course in research methods. Additionally, applicants must have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, advising, scholarship, and service. Preference will be given to candidates with an earned Ph.D.; however, ABD applicants will also be seriously considered.
